Building Your Resume for the Perfect Agile Job - May 25, 2021 When: Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Where: Via Zoom Credit: 1.5 Leadership PDUs Registration Fee: Complimentary - Members only event Of the most stressful life situations, without a doubt finding a new job belongs in that category. Scrolling through job postings, preparing for the phone interview, hoping for the second round, finding the right outfit that says, “I’m a qualified professional, but I don’t take myself too seriously,” are all for naught if your Resume doesn’t catch “Good Attention.” A Candidate’s first opportunity to make a good impression and secure an interview relies on the Resume. This one document can make or break your chances for moving forward in the selection process. Today’s Project Management job market is more than competitive; it’s cut-throat and takes no prisoners. More and more companies are moving towards Agile environments in all its many “flavors” such as Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile, LeSS, and Kanban. Fundamentally applying for a job in an Agile environment is no different from applying for any other job. Successful Candidates customize their Resumes and carefully choose the thoughtful and descriptive language to fit the desired qualifications for the posting. A thoughtful approach to presenting our qualifications and Agile experience can catch the “Good Attention” of the Recruiter or Hiring Manager. So how do you get your Resume recognized and make it stand out and get the “Good Attention”? What attracts the opposite of “Good Attention” and causes a Recruiter or Hiring Manager to pass on your Resume? We’ve assembled a panel of professionals who have reviewed thousands of resumes collectively, and we’ve asked them to share their advice. Scott Carney is a Director of Software Development and Engineering for Comcast. Scott worked in Healthcare Information Technology on a global scale prior to joining Comcast in 2015. He brings a passion for helping customers get the most out of their IT investments through transforming organizations and processes to achieve improved quality and predictability. Greg Zazzarino is a Recruiting Manager for Top Stack and has over 15 years of experience in bringing together successful candidates and top-performing Organizations, including positions in Project, Program, and Product Management. Greg believes in the importance of putting people first and building personal relationships with his candidates and clients. Would you like to be a part of this session? Would you want feedback on your Resume? We are accepting submissions to review anonymously. The goal is to provide constructive feedback and help your Resume get you “Good Attention.” If you would like to participate, please send your Resume to Leigh Ann Gunther, Director of Agile PMI-DVC, and you may be selected.lgunther@pmi-dvc.org
