Description:
While most of us will never be nationally recognized leaders, we can all improve our skills. This will result in more productive relationships and better working environments.

Most people think of leadership as a mythical quality that only the rare few possess.  While most do not possess the true gift for it that a legendary few have, they do have the basic sensibilities to develop the skills that they need for their average, day-to-day needs: leading a team and balancing a handful of stakeholders at work.

At its core, Leadership is a network of relationships built on developed trust and respect.  People good at it develop it around them wherever they go, up and down their chain of command as well as forward into their client organizations.

This presentation will include three sections:

  • An overview of some fundamental concepts of it
  • A discussion of an example of my own, with breakdown of the different factors involved and how I came into it
  • Steps for developing it.

Attendees will be asked to recall 1-3 situations in either work or personal life that went south for them that could have gone better.  Keep these in mind as we move through the presentation to see what resonates with them.  Afterwards we will discuss, so participants can internalize their own leadership potential.

Learning objectives:

  • Identify fundamentals of leadership
  • Learn how to create your own leadership development plan
