For those of you who can’t make it person, or who are still not ready for in person crowds, we will support virtual attendance. This year’s Certification Night will take you on a whirlwind tour of the new PMI certification landscape. Most (67%) of our chapter members have their PMP but the days of the PMP being enough to make you stand out in a crowd of project managers are dwindling. PMI now offers 23 certifications. There are certifications for all levels of experience from new to the profession (CAPM) to senior leader (PgMP). Then there are the specialization areas in a dazzling array of flavors from Risk Management to Value Stream. Agile has come out from languishing as an IT oddity barely acknowledged in the PMBOK to a major area of focus with a multitude of specialized certifications. This meeting will show you the landscape, point you to where you can learn more and then some of our members will share their journeys into the new world of certifications. You will learn about the challenges and rewards of pursuing PMI certifications. What certification is right for you? Will they impress your manager, your next manager? Help you get a better job? Help you attain the self-actualization that takes you to top of Maslow’s pyramid? For those of you who don’t yet have your PMP or other certifications, PMI-DVC is here to help. You will learn about our world class exam prep courses (PMP and CAPM) and free (for chapter members) study groups.
