Course Description
PMI-Authorized PMI-CPMAI™ Exam Prep Course | 21 Hours
The Snyder Center for Project Excellence and PMI Delaware Valley Chapter are proud to offer live, instructor-led PMI-CPMAI™ Exam Prep cohorts as a PMI Authorized Training Partner.
This 21-hour PMI-authorized course is organized around the six phases of the CPMAI™ methodology. Through instructor-led discussion, scenario-based exercises, case studies, and practical application, participants learn how to move AI initiatives from business need and data preparation through development, testing, deployment, governance, and continuous improvement.
The cohort is led by Dr. Bob Schatz, PMIxAI Ambassador, and combines PMI-authorized materials with Snyder Center preparation and post-course support.
Completion of the PMI-CPMAI™ Exam Prep Course is required before taking the certification exam. The exam includes 120 questions and allows 160 minutes for completion.
Participants who complete the course may also earn 21 PDUs toward maintaining eligible PMI certifications:

- 7 Business Acumen PDUs
- 3 Power Skills PDUs

Module 1: The Need for AI Project Management
Explore why AI initiatives struggle, how iterative delivery supports successful outcomes, and how the CPMAI™ methodology provides a structured approach to managing AI projects responsibly and effectively.
Module 2: Matching AI with Business Needs
Phase I
Learn to align AI solutions with real business needs, evaluate feasibility, define expected value and return on investment, and establish a clear project scope.
Module 3: Identifying Data Needs for AI Projects
Phase II
Determine what data an AI initiative requires, address compliance considerations, and establish the infrastructure needed to support effective data management throughout the project lifecycle.
Module 4: Managing Data Preparation Needs for AI Projects
Phase III
Learn how raw data is transformed into AI-ready inputs through data quality reviews, preparation, augmentation, and compliance controls.
Module 5: Iterating Development and Delivery of AI Projects
Phase IV
Explore how AI models are developed, trained, and validated, including applications involving machine learning and generative AI.
Module 6: Testing and Evaluating AI Systems
Phase V
Learn how to test and monitor AI models, identify and address model drift, and ensure that results remain reliable, explainable, and aligned with organizational goals.
