Speakers: Tricia Steege of P. D. Steege & Associates will conduct the morning presentation on Mastering Change with Effective Stakeholder and Carl Pritchard of Pritchard Management Associates will present the afternoon presentation on Risk Management-It's Easier (and more positive!) than You Think.

Mastering Change with Effective Stakeholder presentation will cover how your key stakeholders are an important part of your project implementation success. During times of complex change, they have a lot of things competing for their attention.  Your ability to complete your project, on time and within budget is highly dependent upon your abilities to effectively manage your stakeholders and keep them engaged with you and your project.  Successfully managing your stakeholders means having a solid understanding of what is personally important to them; including an intimate knowledge of their level of interest in your project, their ability to influence its success and how they personally deal with change.

Solid stakeholder relationships don’t just happen. It takes intentional planning on your part as a project manager. 

This workshop will introduce strategies that ensure your stakeholders are actively partnering with you to influence the successful implementation of your projects.

Learning Objectives:

·       Define the stakeholder and project managers role in stakeholder engagement

·       Describe the purposes of a concrete Stakeholder Engagement Strategy

·       Discuss the considerations to be addressed in developing an effective Stakeholder Engagement Strategy

·       Conduct a stakeholder analysis for the project

·       Keenly manage project stakeholders through the life of the project

Risk Management-It's Easier (and more positive!) than You Think presentation on Risk Management is, in some organizations, a taboo topic. It is negative.  It is all the bad things that may happen, and the impacts they may cause.  It drifts from free-floating anxiety to specific, narrow fears.   This presentation will help dispel those misconceptions and provide a painless, and yet effective, process to get you from your current state of risk management to one where team members are more likely to contribute and where risks are genuinely being managed. 

Learning Objectives:

·       The ability to draw out risks without the negative overtones

·       A clear understanding of who the "risk owner" should be (and it's rarely "you")

·       The capacity to build a project charter that embeds risk management from the start with one simple paragraph

·       Insight on the most common project risk, and some first steps to manage it

·       A renewed respect for fire prevention experts, rather than firefighters

About the Speakers

Tricia Steege is a published author, speaker and recognized organizational change management expert in helping successful leaders and their teams achieve success during significant transformational events.  

During the course of her 30 year career, she has consulted to numerous global organizations including companies such as Lockheed Martin, Unisys, Wolters Kluwer, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer and Merck where she has had overall responsibility to lead large scale organizational change and technology change implementations; design, develop and facilitate strategic planning events, develop and roll out blended learning curriculums, provide coaching and advise leaders at all levels in the organization. One of Tricia’s most memorable experiences was being selected to facilitate a meeting of 5000 individuals to plan the rebuilding of the World Trade Center after 9/11

Carl Pritchard,
PMP, PMI-RMP is the "fun guy" of risk management.  The author of two risk management textbooks (with seven books to his credit), Carl understands the nature of risk, its culture and the challenges that organizations face when they have the risk conversation.  Carl was the lead chapter author of the risk management chapter of the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge for the fourth edition of the PMBOK.  He is an award-winning contributor to the project management community, and is the principal and founder of Pritchard Management Associates, a leading project management training firm.
