Disciplined Agile certification requires a project manager to have a comprehensive understanding of DA Delivery, which in turn describes how all aspects of agile principles and practices fit together in an enterprise-class environment. Because the certifications build upon each other, a project manager can use them as a measure of how well agile skills and knowledge are spreading through their organization. The Disciplined Agile Consortium promotes a principled, Shu-Ha-Ri strategy (a martial arts concept that represents someone’s learning) to certification in that five designations are supported:
- Disciplined Agilist (DA)
- Certified Disciplined Agilist (CDA)
- Certified Disciplined Agile Practitioner (CDAP)
- Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Master (DALSM)
- Certified Disciplined Agile Coach (CDAC)
- Certified Disciplined Agile Instructor (CDAI)
