The Delaware Valley Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) welcomes you to our website! PMI Delaware Valley Chapter (PMI-DVC), chartered in 1979, serves the Greater Philadelphia Area, South Jersey, Delaware and Eastern Shore Maryland. PMI is the world’s leading not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession, with more than half a million members and credential holders in 185 countries. Their worldwide advocacy for project management is supported by their globally-recognized standards and credentials, extensive research program, and professional development opportunities. PMI-DVC strives to provide a forum for project management professionals to promote the principles of the Project Management Institute through networking with other project management professionals, sharing project experiences, providing and receiving training, and supporting project management professional in their certification efforts. With a membership of approximately 2,700 professionals (65% of which are certified) representing a few hundred organizations and a wide variety of industries, we continue to provide value to our membership by conducting chapter breakfast/dinner meetings, educational courses, job opportunity postings on our website, and so much more. PMI Delaware Valley Chapter Annual Academic Scholarship in Project ManagementBeginning in 2010, PMI-DVC and the Project Management Institute Education Foundation (PMIEF) have partnered to offer, on an annual basis, a $2,500 academic scholarship to our chapter members and/or their immediate family members. The PMI-DVC Academic Scholarship was created to promote academic and professional development education in project management. PMIEF is the philanthropic arm of the Project Management Institute which is dedicated to improving society through project management knowledge and skills globally. PMIEF was established in 1990 and its vision is to champion project management and skills for educational and social good. The PMIEF Academic Scholarship Program is designed to financially assist qualified applicants in obtaining degrees from accredited academic institutions of higher learning in the field of project management or any field with any relation to project management. The program is open to any student preparing to enter or already attending an accredited degree-granting college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree. The scholarships are awarded based on merit as measured by academic performance and extracurricular activities. The applicant’s intended field of study is also considered in the evaluation process with preference given to those candidates pursuing a degree in project management or a directly related field of study. In addition to the criteria noted above, applicants will be reviewed with the following order of priority: 1. A member of the PMI Delaware Valley Chapter or an immediate family member (including spouse, children, step children and grandchildren but not cousins, aunts, or uncles) attending or planning to attend any accredited college or university. *Delaware Valley consists of the following geographical locations: The application deadline is June 1 each year; award recipient(s) will be notified in August. The scholarships will be awarded no later than September.
